River Market and Westside.

There are two places in Kansas City that are especially pleasant in the spring: River Market and Westside. River Market has a chill, "everything's fine" attitude and I can imagine it being very relaxing to open up the windows in a loft and sip a glass of wine or hot tea.

What I find the most interesting in Westside are the houses. They're mostly tiny and old and seem like something completely out of place surrounded by highways and industrial-looking downtown of Kansas City. What's even more appealing in the neighborhood is Westside Local, a great little restaurant that uses local vendors to produce their amazing meals.
